Behind the Studio

Every space tells a story. Every piece should too.

Creating bespoke upholstery and interior textiles for spaces that couldn't belong to anyone else.

Hi lovely! I'm Hannah,

The creative behind Studio Sonny

Studio Sonny is my one-woman upholstery studio based in Mallorca, where I create bespoke upholstery and interior textiles for homes, restaurants, boutique hotels and yachts.

Every project is different because every person, every space, and every story is different.

A woman with earrings and a yellow jacket is working on a wooden chair, using a measuring tape. There are crafting supplies on the table, including a roll of fabric, a ruler, and scissors.
A cozy living room with a cream-colored sofa, a glass coffee table with books and decorative items, a beige rug, a beige armchair, wooden beams on the ceiling, textured stone walls, and warm lighting from a table lamp.

Furniture should never feel ordinary

I believe luxury should feel joyful, heritage should be celebrated, and every project should be shaped around the person it's made for.

Above all, I want to create pieces that are loved for years to come.

Where it all began

A creative path that finally found its home.

I've always been drawn to textiles.

Fashion was my first love and what I originally studied at university before swapping lecture halls for life at sea, spending almost a decade working as a yacht stewardess and travelling the world.

After settling in Mallorca, textiles found their way back into my life. In 2019 I began retraining as an upholsterer, discovering a craft that combined everything I loved: creativity, problem solving, making by hand, and creating something built to last.

Every project since has deepened my passion for thoughtful design and beautifully made furniture.

A new chapter

Motherhood changed everything

So I'm rebuilding a studio that reflects the life I want to live and leaves space for the beautiful chaos that is motherhood.

Becoming a mum in 2024 meant the way I work had to change.

In 2026 I rebranded to Studio Sonny, inspired by my son, the Mallorcan sunshine, and my love for joyful colours, unexpected fabrics, and playful design.

Studio Sonny has become a place where all my creative interests can exist together and continue evolving without being confined to one idea or one style.

It changes all the time, as life is inclined to do... but poc a poc — vamos.

A woman is holding a young child and kissing him on the cheek. The child is smiling, holding glasses, and sitting on rolls of black tape on a table. There are various rolls of tape, a tape dispenser, and a piece of ribbon with a pattern on it on the table.

Years of Experience. Years of making.

Over the past five years I've worked across private homes, restaurants, hotels and the marine sector, collaborating with clients looking for something beautifully personal rather than simply practical.

Every project teaches me something new, and that curiosity is something I bring into every commission.

Kind Words

Always learning.
Always making.

My approach combines traditional and modern upholstery techniques, developed through specialist training with AMUSF and years of hands-on experience.

I've been fortunate to contribute to projects featured in Elle Decoration, AD, and ¡HOLA!, collaborating with inspiring clients and creatives along the way.

Beyond the workshop

Life outside the studio inspires everything inside it

When I'm not in the studio you'll usually find me in the garden with Sonny, attempting to grow vegetables while my partner Craig patiently rescues whatever I've forgotten to water.

I never miss a good food market or flea market, and I'm always keeping an eye out for vintage furniture, beautiful textiles and unusual thimbles to add to my growing collection.

Those small moments of curiosity, colour and collecting inevitably find their way back into my work.

Beautiful things deserve time

One pair of hands & my full attention

Studio Sonny isn't built around producing more.
It's built around creating better.

Working this way means I can stay involved in every decision, from exploring ideas and sourcing fabrics to refining the smallest details.

Because the best furniture isn't rushed.
